🖊 Indermit Gill will be appointed on September 1, 2022.
🖊 He has become only the second Indian to serve as chief economist at the World Bank. Before him, Kaushik Basu had worked as Chief Economist from 2012 to 2016
🖊 Chief Economist of the World Bank is the senior economist there. He is tasked to provide intellectual leadership and direction to the overall international development strategy and economic research agenda of the World Bank
